-- For property tax purposes, the City of Sycamore is divided among Cortland, DeKalb, & Sycamore Townships.
-- Property tax rates are based on 33.3% of market value and rate per $100 of assessed value.
-- Utility taxes are based on percentages of net utility charges; there is also a state levied 5% utility tax.
-- Sales tax rate = 5% state + 1% municipality + 0.25% county; The City of DeKalb and the City of Sycamore also has an additional 1.75% home rule tax plus a 2% tax in Restaurant and Bar & Hotel-Motel for a total of 10%.
--Maple Park rates reflect portion of Maple Park which is within DeKalb County.
