There's a Revolution Going on and it's Called Agriculture
The mood was set during lunch as the DeKalb County Cattlemen's Association grilled ribeye steaks for the crowd. Comfortably seated, the enthusiastic crowd sat rapt as Greg Millburg, Farm Bureau Manager, gave an overview of the impact of agriculture on DeKalb County's economy.
88.5% of DeKalb County land is used for agricultural purposes - land that accounts for $957 million in impact (with multiplier factor) annually. Millburg's Power Point walked the audience through the role of grain and livestock as well as the cost of inputs and ongoing issues that Agriculture faces.
Following the presentation Scott Newport, FBFM, and Paul Rasmussen, Jr., Farmer and Farm Bureau Board President, fielded questions from the audience.
The entire presentation is available for viewing in the Members Only section of the website.
