February 24, 2009 Economic Outlook Breakfast
The 2009 Economic Outlook
Breakfast took place at Kishwaukee College and had a registration
of over 230 people who enjoyed a breakfast buffet and listened
to Dr. Asha Bangalore, Vice President and Economist with Northern
Trust.
Dr. Bangalore compared the current recession to those in years
past and highlighted the differences between them. She also addressed
when the economy might start to recover. She stated that historically
this is one of the longest recessions with the unemployment rate
rising more than usual. Although unemployment could continue to
rise somewhat, better lending conditions between financial institutions
and the new economic stimulus package should help the economy
to recover by years end.
Dr. Bangalore's presentation is available in the Members
Only section of the website.
